Education in Germany

The education in German universities is free for both local students and foreigners. Only a few universities charge tuition fees, but rather low (120-600 euro per semester). This amount includes regular contributions to a public transport pass, use of the library, other costs associated with the process of learning in each University. Classes are held in the form of lectures, laboratory work and seminars. In the compulsory program of higher education institutions in Germany included studying 5 foreign languages: English, French, Italian, Spanish and Chinese.

Diploma of the German University gives you the opportunity to continue education in postgraduate study or find a job in this country or other countries of the European Union. In turn, for professionals in Germany are given the opportunity to qualify for permanent residence.

In 2010 year Germany acceded to the Bologna process. Therefore, the higher education system here consists of a Bachelor degree (3 years) and Master degree (1 year). After training, the graduates are 18-month internship, and then pass the exams and get the diploma.

In many German Universities have no entrance examinations. Sometimes students are offered these types of tests, interview, test, or even role playing game. Apply to the University any graduate of the school who have passed the Abitur test at a high grades. In addition, the applicant must provide letters of recommendation and motivation letter.

Submissions for the winter semester: late April-July 15, but online registration at many universities begins in November.

Submissions for the summer semester: late November-15 January.

Confirmation of enrollment for studies is usually   in August-September (winter semester), February-March (summer semester).

The dates of admission to the private universities are different. Application campaign usually takes longer, but results come much faster.

The principle of "academic freedom" allows students to independently compile a list of disciplines for study. At the time, university students are given a deferment from the army. Students have the right to work during their studies and internships in German companies paid. In addition, they have the opportunity to study for one or more semesters in another country.

The University Of Stuttgart

Description: the University of Stuttgart-state university of Germany. Is one of the best technical colleges of this country and enjoys international recognition in the field of technical specialties. It was founded in 1829 as the United school of arts, Sciences and crafts, and in 1967 was transformed into a classical University. 20% of all students at this University are foreign students wishing to pursue higher education in Germany.  Today at the University of Stuttgart working 10 faculties, 56 undergraduate and 20 graduate programs.

At the University of Stuttgart has its own library that founded in the same year, the University Center of testing and research materials, high-performance Computing Center and University Pfaffenval'd Observatory. The amount of investment in the University, including foreign, grows with each passing year, which testifies to its leading role not only in Germany but also in the global market.

Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich

Description: the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) is a leading European Research University, which is located in the heart of Munich. Rhine-Westphalia Technical University of Aachen

Description: the Rhine-Westphalia Technical University of Aachen is an elite State University of Germany, who achieved worldwide recognition in the field of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, engineering, information technology, physics and chemistry. It was founded in1870 as the Royal Polytechnic School the Rhine-Westphalia Aachen, within 10 years, in the year 1880, the institution was granted university status. The most famous graduates of Aachen University are Nobel Laureates in Physics (William Wines, Philipp Lenard, Johannes Stark) and chemistry (Peter Debye, Karl Ziegler). And according to research2006-2007 biennium, this University graduated every fifth Board member of German industrial concerns.

Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main

Description: Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main is among the top 10 best universities in Germany. A feature of this University is that, as in 1912, he was created the money collected by the inhabitants of the city, and still act sponsored by different organization’s or individuals, is considered to be a "national", and that  gives it  great academic freedom. Goethe University Administration has the right to independently, without coordination with the Ministry of education, to choose the number and topics of research or new projects, and decide who to invite to give lectures or seminars. At Frankfurt University has about 7 thousand foreign students, which give it international status. Goethe University boasts such famous graduates as a statesman and politician Helmut Kohl, former Prime Minister of Hessen Roland Koch, Nobel Laureate in physiology or medicine, Paul Ehrlich.

Accommodation: Frankfurt Johann Wolfgang Goethe University offers its students accommodation in hostels, which varies from 170 to 300 euros per month. Unfortunately, the number of places is limited, so the University has an organization that helps free to find an apartment to rent, the cost of which varies from 300 to 400 euros.

Description: University of Freiburg is a State university, one of the oldest universities of Germany, which was founded in 1457 by the Habsburg dynasty. Today this university is included in the top 100 universities in the world. In 2007 University of Freiburg got the status of an elite institution of higher learning, and each year attracts thousands of students not only from Germany but also from countries all over the world who wish to receive a quality higher education abroad. Private Universities

Rhine education College (Studienkolleg-Bonn)

Description: College education at private colleges has many advantages. Here the student begins training in the most comfortable conditions: small groups, individual approach to each, extra lessons on request, friendly atmosphere, organization of cultural activities for students. Enroll in private shtudienkolleg (Studienkolleg) much easier, and the results are usually higher. The student feels comfortable, gradually adapting to a new country, learning German. Moreover, at the end of the independent preparatory college students can enroll in universities across federal lands of Germany and continue their studies to obtain higher education in free State University, Germany.

Rhine educational College (Studienkolleg) is one of the private student boards of Germany. The College is accredited by the Ministry of education of the Federal Republic of Germany. Teachers have the highest qualifications and degrees in their areas of expertise. The training program includes about 30 hours of classroom work, weekly. This is the German language classes and intensive training directly to the future specialty. At the end of the 10-month program graduates pass the qualification exam "Feststellungsprüfung", and after successfully passing the exam receive a certificate "Zeugnis über die bestandene Feststellungsprüfung", which allows  to enroll  in public and private universities of Germany on the chosen specialty.

Location: in the city of Bonn near Cologne in Western Germany

Accommodation: College offers several options of accommodation: student apartment with neighbors (single room, shared bathroom on the 2-3 rooms total), individual apartments, accommodation in a German family. The room rate is 300-450 euros/month.

Specialization: the College has provided training in such areas as economy, sociology, medicine, biology, computer science, or engineering. (W-Kurs, M-Kurs, T-Kurs)

M-course prepares students to enter the profession, relating to medicine, biology, 

pharmaceuticals etc. The main course subjects -German language, mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics.

W-course is designed to prepare to enter the economic and social professions. Core subjects-German, economics, social studies, mathematics, computer science, English.

T course offers intensive training to obtain technical specialties. The main subjects German, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, physics.

Also there are preparatory language courses and profile. Here you can increase the level of German language from the A1, go through the preparatory mathematics course, prepare for international exams TestDaf, DSH.
